- The poor comm program is only doing what it's supposed to do. The only
- real solution is to find and eliminate the source of the bad characters.
- If the problem is due to line noise, an error correcting modem should fix
- it (I'm assuming that you DO NOT have one now).

- If in fact you do have an error-correcting modem, then the problem could
- be in too-high a port speed at either end (comm overruns in the
- equipment), or handshaking problems between either modem and the
- equipment.
